appearance.
image ref here
loonpaw has the lithe frame characteristic of a young cat, with a form that promises to fill and fluff out with the coming seasons. they will grow to have a sturdier body and a semi-cobby face.
their fur is short and puffy, allowing a lower probability of snaring leaves and dirt; however, their fur does tend to be on the dustier side. their eyes are a copper hue, like the wooden docks they inhabit with their clan, and their leathers are a peachy pink color. their fur isn't overly soft, even with extra grooming. it has a rougher texture, and never settles down quite all the way - it isn't very smooth at all.
their fur pattern is bicolor black and white. their ears and tail are both black, along with a few stray patches on their face and a big black 'cape' along their shoulders.

personality
[ easygoing ] [ lax ] [ contemplative ]
[ placid ] [ reserved ]
[ childish ] [ complacent ] [ aloof ]
loonpaw is a drifter by nature and follows wherever the river of life takes them. they aren't fussy at all about particulars, but absolutely hate surprises and sudden changes. it's hard to get loonpaw to react strongly to anything at all, let alone get them to take action. they struggle to find motivation to do anything unless it's important or something they enjoy doing - for example, they will struggle with herb studying unless presented in a less serious, more fun context, such as a quiz with some sort of prize at the end. they're a little difficult to teach because of this.
one boon of being so laid back, though, is that loonpaw always has time to think about things. they find great pleasure in using their imagination to create scenarios to fill the afternoon with entertainment. usually, loonpaw will use this to cope with stress or change, and loves to include other cats in their antics. some might worry that loonpaw will never 'grow up', and deep down, loonpaw worries about that, too.
history
loonpaw was born to dipperfoot and daisycloud's second litter. they grew up with an older sibling from a previous litter by the name of gannetnose who they were very close to - oftentimes crying out in fear when the warrior was out of sight for too long. loonkit was a bit of a crybaby when they were younger, but grew to be a little more easygoing as they aged, never truly growing out of their attachment to gannetnose.
their interest in preserving the peace and calm of ferryclan - as naive as it was - was what brought them closer to the medicine cat role initially. it was a miracle that the kit had any focus for the duties the medicine cat carried out, the herbs and treatments used to treat ill cats, and the most important and interesting part of all - experimenting with new treatments. there was so much to absorb, and loonkit was an information sponge, often reciting things they'd learned from the medicine cats to gannetnose excitedly before naptime.
initially, their work as a warrior's apprentice was fairly menial, though the work bored them and they felt more inclined to go searching for herbs to bring back instead of prey. it was getting to be very frustrating for their current mentor.
they were overjoyed when they were finally made one of two medicine cat apprentices, though they worried a bit about whether they were quite fit for the job - after all, even if they could focus on their duties, they may forget to do something vital in the daily routine that could cost the clan immensely. they are willing to try, however, and are determined not to mess it up for themself.

dipperfoot: shorthaired black she-cat with low white (belly and paw markings) and hazel eyes. has classic tabby but shows solid. former loner, but joined ferryclan many seasons ago and fell in love with parent2, who helped them settle into the clan lifestyle when she first arrived. loonpaw's mama.
daisycloud: shorthaired classic tabby ginger tom with high white (all but tail/ears) and copper eyes. carries solid but doesn't display it (stripes are higher-contrast). skittish but well-meaning. helped parent1 get used to clan life and ended up having two litters with her. loonpaw's papa.
gannetnose: shorthaired black-based calico (tortie w/ high white). roleplayed by Tilly - roughly 12 moons older than loonpaw. sibling from an older litter.
