High Rank Responsibilities
High Ranks have important responsibilities to maintain the clan and make sure everything is running smoothly. Thats how it was in the books, and that is how it will be here as well. These responsibilities help to make staff's jobs easier as well, and offer a chance for fun interaction through clan hierarchies and duties.
- Leaders
Leaders are in charge of making sure that kits become apprentices at the appropriate time, and that all player apprentices are paired with player mentors. They are also in charge of all ceremonies involving rank.
Their second major duty is choosing the gathering party each season, based on NPCs, active characters, and apprentices which require gathering threads.
While it is not required, it is encouraged that Leaders have a thread each season checking up on one of the ranks, such as queens, elders, apprentices or the medicine cats. - Deputies
Once a season, deputies must organize a full set of patrols (border patrols, hunting patrols, etc). Assigning NPCs and active characters to flesh them out.
Also Deputies must once a season conduct an assessment of the apprentices in the clan (this can count as a credit for the apprentices depending on what the assessment is).
Otherwise, Deputies must stand in for leaders if necessary both in roleplay but also in real life if the players of a leader must go on hiatus. - Medicine Cats
Once a season Medicine Cats must have a healing thread, although it may be more common depending on injuries or sickness that happen on the clan. A herb gathering or treatment preparation thread can substitute.
In order to encourage medicine cat characters to use their skills, once a month a random cat per clan (two for Ferryclan) will be given a random disease or sickness. If they are not treated by the time another cat is given a sickness, the first cat will find that their sickness as either progressed and worsened, or spread in the clan, or their wound has developed and infection. If not treated by the end of the season there will be a chance that the cat has died.
Medicine cats must attend the medicine cat meeting once every season. - Skywatcher
Since the understanding of weather is important to Waveclan, at least once a season each Skywatcher must have a weather-reading thread. - Guardian
Each Guardian (since they dont really have much else to do) should have at least one patrol/guarding thread a season. In the case of any burials they should be in attendance to be certain burial rights are correctly done. - Head Queen
Since this is considered a high position of importance in Ferryclan, each season a Head Queen must have a thread educating the kits of the clan, either through a lecture on clan law or a game to hone their skills.
