Description
A small foreign, long-furred, white she-cat with blue eyes.
Appearance
With her mother having been pure-bred Turkish Angora it's no surprise that most of her kits looked to be, for the most part, the same breed. Icefang was probably the closest in appearance to her mother, who she shares her small size with. Even with her long legs and thick fur there is a drastic difference in size between Icefang and the other Guards. Despite this, due to many moons of hard training her fluffy pelt hides a lithe and muscular physique. Other than her size and foreign build, Icefang also shares her pure white fur and crystal clear, almond-shaped blue eyes with her mother.
Personality
Of all the words people could use to describe Icefang, while the first one to come to mind is usually 'bitch' a reluctant second is 'dependable'. The she-cat, though closed-off emotionally, makes a point to aways be there for her clan. Her father instilled many beliefs in Icefang she was still young and though she has put distance between herself and her clanmates she still strongly believes in the lessons her father taught her.
"Honor, Diligence, Loyalty, and Pride, those are the things that make a true warrior"
Icefang's guard training is mostly what helped her become the person she is now, her mentor Emberclaw teaching her to use the distance she put up to her advantage. After many moons the she-cat has become quite skilled at persuasion, both through intimidation and flirtation. Along with her skills Icefang picked up a strong admiration for sarcasm, being very skilled at turning her words into weapons.
With everything about Icefang being both inviting and off-putting at the same time she is often deemed 'unapproachable' which honestly works in her favor as she has no desire to let anyone new into her life. Overall Icefang works extremely hard and is respected for that, even if it is reluctantly given respect.
History
Icekit was born at the end of winter, along with her 5 siblings. Though her brother Saltkit died shortly after, due to a heart condition, she and the rest of her siblings were healthy. Once the kits had left the nursery for the first time it was chaos, none of the caretakers able to keep all of them in the same place at once. Thankfully, by the time the kits reached three moons old they had prioritized staying together over running rampant and after that they were far easier to look after.
As the kits developed their relationships with each other and the rest of their family it was quickly made apparent that all the kits had picked a 'buddy', all except Icekit that is. Fawnkit, who was a very jovial and humorous, had formed a close bond with the vain but open-hearted Mimosakit and the quietly observant Owlkit tended to spend most of his time with the Quick-witted and Energetic Cocoakit. Icekit on the other hand, decided against choosing a favorite sibling, and instead formed a close bond with her father Brightclaw. It was almost humorous to watch the group of kit, of which Icekit acted as the leader and 'glue' of sorts. Whenever their father was busy, the persistent and adventurous Icekit would be with her siblings playing the games the caretakers ran or listening to the elder's stories. On the other-hand, as soon as Brightclaw had a moment to spare Icekit would be at his side and the other kits would split up to spend time with their buddy.
Even at such a young age, it was pretty clear what ranks the kits would take on, everyone even saying to the kits how perfect they would fit into their ranks. Despite being constantly told that she would make a perfect gatherer with her long pelt and blue eyes Icekit knew that she wanted to be a Guard just like her father. Once their apprentice ceremony had come and gone the kits all excelled in their basic training. Together they worked as a team, helping each other when someone fell behind or had trouble, and the group quickly excelled. When Cherrystar had talked to the apprentice siblings about what ranks they wanted to take, Icepaw's was the only one to surprise him. Almost the entire clan had expected her to become a Gatherer and eventually a Caregiver, much like her mother. Despite his surprise he conferred with Saltstorm and, though she showed the same surprise, she also made it clear that she thought that Icepaw should be given a chance.
When Icepaw was given a mentor at only 8 moons, along with the rest of her siblings, she was assigned Emberclaw, Saltstorm's sister and a very respected and capable female guard. Icepaw and Emberclaw quickly got along, Emberclaw admiring her apprentice's determined nature. Icepaw worked extremely hard to prove herself, training with Emberclaw whenever the she-cat had the time. Whenever she wasn't training with Emberclaw she was either getting in more training with her father or helping around camp. Her siblings often remarked and joked about how they didn't know how she did it, since they barely ever seemed to see their sister rest or eat.
All good things come to an end though. Two moons after they had been assigned their mentors, during a break from her constant training Mimosapaw and Fawnpaw convinced Icepaw to and go on a walk with them down through the Ferry Plaza. The three she-cats were joking around and having fun, too distracted to notice a human knock over a stack of crates right on top of them. One landed over-top Mimosapaw, trapping her inside, and another landed on top of Icepaw, crushing her leg. Meanwhile, Fawnpaw had tried to roll away when a crate was about to land on her, causing the wood to cut into her flesh. Icepaw and Mimosapaw had watched, struggling to free themselves, as the human had run off with their sister. Another human had been there and had freed the other two she-cats but by then the human had gotten too far away for the two apprentices to track her. While they honestly couldn't have done anything Mimosapaw blamed Icepaw, causing a shift in their family's dynamic.
Icepaw's bad luck didn't seem to end there either. Over the next few moons the entire clan looked for Fawnpaw but there was no sign of her. Icepaw and her father didn't give up hope though, and continued to look for their missing kin. It was during one of their searches, Icepaw then 13 moons old, that they were attacked by a large dog that had gotten free from it's human. During the fight Saltstorm happened to pass by, on a patrol with a friend, and the two cats came to Icepaw's and Brightclaw's aid. The four of them managed to kill the dog, the creature refusing to give up even as it was losing, but Brightclaw was horribly injured in the process and died the following day.
Shortly after Icepaw had her warrior ceremony and was given the name Icefang, for her amazing combat skills and the natural talent she had for hunting. As she pushed herself into her duties to live with the grief, a distance grew between Icefang and the rest of her siblings. It was almost as if something had broken inside her with the death of her father. The once adventurous and gleeful she-cat was now sarcastic and overly aggressive.
Despite her change in attitude Icefang was still just as hard-working and determined as she always was. She does everything to the best of her ability, always putting the clan's needs in front of her own even if she does it with a snarky comment or two.(or twenty...). Recently Swanstep took on a new mate, one of Icefang's uncles. Though this shocked all her kits, most of the clan wasn't all too surprised. Ever since Icefang has been around camp even less than she usually was and she refuses to talk to her mother or uncle.
