Substantial, long haired black she-cat with clay-colored eyes.
[li]Appearance-[/li]
Starlingkit is a beautiful long haired she-cat with the same double layer of soft fur that her mother has, making her look way larger than she really is at her young age. Well to be fair, even if it’s clear that she will look a lot like her mom once she grows up, at the current time she looks like a cute ball of walking fluff. Her pelt is pitch black, taking in the darkest genes of both her parents. Her mother often claims that she can see some of her reddish coloration on the inner layer of fur of the young kit, but even Starlingkit thinks that she may be trying too hard to find something that isn’t really there. Her eyes currently have that blueish coloration that all newborn kits have, but as she ages these will acquire the color of clay.
[li]Personality-[/li]
+ Adaptable: Starlingkit is the kind of kit that isn’t struck down by changes happening around her and instead can adapt to such things fairly quickly. From something as common as a change of season to even something more severe such as a complete change of a routine she could’ve been following for moons. She may not be as open to change as other cats from other clans thanks to RootClan’s ways, but she can indeed face and overcome this if forced to face it someday.
+ Clever: When she can overcome her insecurities or is in a tight situation, this part of her personality shines like the stars on a dark moonless night. She can think quickly and figure out solutions for many situations that would make most cats panic, or simply to be able to walk on the easier path possible on her everyday routine.
; Curious: She’s quite a curious cat, always wanting to find out more about the world around her even if something isn’t truly relevant for her life. One of her favorite things to do is to go to the elder’s den and listen to their stories of ancient times, StarClan and their lives before they became too old to go on with their warrior duties, with a great imagination that almost allows her to see herself at the side of the protagonists during the whole thing. She also tends to go to the Medicine Cat’s den whenever the elders can’t receive her for some reason and bother the older cat with questions about herbs and their effects, even if it’s really unlikely that her path will lead her to such life.
- Complacent: Derived from her insecurities, she wants to make everyone happy and feel accepted as much as possible, reason why she sometimes does what other cats tell her even if she doesn’t want to. This also will cause her to use “Thou” a lot more than other cats of her age once she learns about the word and how to correctly use it.
- Insecure: Since she lacks the “Touch of Amber” that her parents tend to claim to have and her own brother so proudly shows, she feels like StarClan for some reason didn’t approve of her like they did with them and, deeper inside, feels the same way about her mother’s approval given how much she seems to have wanted such sign of approval on her kits. This causes her to be extremely insecure of herself and heavily question her own skills and abilities most of the time, always trying to figure out what she did wrong to lack the trait that her family is so proud of.

After her mother’s and father’s apprentice ceremonies, they became mates and started to try for kits even with the known tendency of RootClan kits to die way before their time given the constant deformities all illnesses that came from the intense inbreeding in the clan. Starlingkit and her brother, Bramblekit, were the result of these tries, two healthy kits that were growing strong.
While Bramblekit is showing/will show the amber gene on his gene that her mother so claims to be StarClan’s sign of acceptance, Starlingkit will stay pitch black her whole life, being a carrier of the gene instead of showing it. This immediately comes with the side-effect of her insecurities and doubts.
