SUNHEART
32 Moons
QUEEN
ROOTCLAN
DESCRIPTION
Substantial amber torbie with a little white on her neck, chin and toes, and with grassy green eyes.
APPEARANCE
Sunheart is on the larger side for a she-cat among Rootclan, with a very heavy set stature. She has long, thick fur that she generally keeps well groomed, though her appearance always comes behind the good of her clan and the good of her family in rough times. She has intense, green eyes, soft like the grass in the spring and fall times, when it's not quite as green as it tends to be in the summer. Her nose is black, and the darkness of it spreads up her muzzle a bit to fade into the amber fur around her face. The rest of her pelt has a amber tortoiseshell pattern, with dark classic tabby markings.
PERSONALITY
Active. Loyal. Intense. Blunt. Critical.
If you called Sunheart loud, you wouldn't be lying. She's bull-headed and head-strong in ever sense of the terms. From a young age, it wasn't unusual to see Sunheart strutting around, lecturing others on the righteousness of the warrior code. Particularly when it came to dedication to the code. She never failed to get into other cats faces about how they needed to be more proud of their clan and loyal to the code. That side of her never quite faded, though she definitely grew more tactful as she got older. Everyone knows Sunheart will speak up if she feels like it's needed. When it comes to mentoring apprentices she's known to be strict, and is never reluctant. And when the time came that she was expecting kits, Sunheart was thrilled to be giving her clan more warriors. While she's very loyal to her clan, Sunheart is also very loyal in her relationship, and to her family as well, and is always looking out for them the best she can.
HISTORY
Sunheart was born in a litter of three, alongside Boarkit and Wrenkit. At the time, she was named Nightkit, for her then dark pelt. Her parents were Ploverfoot and Loonfang, two moderately typical clan cats, special in their own ways but not necessarily outstanding either. They were more friendly than romantic, and while Loonfang was involved as a father to his kits, the pair were never in it to mate exclusively.
Boarkit, Wrenkit and Nightkit were moderately typical as well. They romped, and played. They got excited when their father visited them. They tormented their mother. They played with other kits, begged the apprentices to show them what they were learning, and bothered the elders to hear story after story. But as they grew, the differences in them became apparent. Wrenkit was always tracking things around camp, Boarkit always whining about how he wanted to play-fight. Meanwhile, Nightkit spent her time begging everyone to teach her more about the clan.
When they became apprentices, they all proved themselves to the clan as worthy future warriors. Boarpaw excelled at fighting, Wrenpaw at tracking, and Patchpaw (formerly Nightkit) was decently well-rounded. However, despite her averageness, Patchpaw was difficult to overlook, especially when she began to berate other apprentices for taking their training lightly, and for not trying their best. She hated when they made jokes about their mentors, and she even was known to lip off to warriors now and again if she decided they weren't taking pride in their clan. One tom in particular she liked to pick on a lot was Slugpaw, a tom near hear age. They'd played together as kits.
It was no wonder when they earned their warrior names, that Patchpaw was made into Sunheart. Sun, for her fur which had become amber over the moons of her life, and heart for her strong sense of morality.
As a warrior, Sunheart continued to serve her clan faithfully, calling out others for disloyalties. One tom, though, seemed to have grown a certain fondness for this behavior. Slugcloud, who'd also been made a warrior, had begun to hang around with Sunheart, listening to her lectures, and stepping in to mellow her out when needed. As the moons passed, they were seen together more and more. Nobody bothered asking who the father of Sunheart's kits were when they came along. Most just assumed Slugcloud was the only one who liked being around Sunheart long enough to mate with her, or at least, that's what they joked.
While the kits were still very young, illness swept through the clan, claiming both Sunheart's mother Ploverfoot, and her brother Boarclaw. She was unable to visit either of them before they died, for fear of carrying their illness to her kits.
Sunheart was a loving mother to her three kits, but also a strict one. She did her best to instill good values into her kits, and to make sure they understood their importance as members of Rootclan. She knew she had done all she could when they were of age to become apprentices, and she watched their ceremony proudly. Sunheart still watches over her kits, but she's happy to be returning to her duties as a warrior as well, with intent to have more kits in the future.
