[li]Description-[/li]
A Semi-foreign female grey classic tabby with low grade white patterns and green eyes.
[li]Appearance-[/li]
Dovetail has a very feminine look with her high hips, small paws, and a unusually long tail. Her eyes are slanted and usually have a half-lidded look to them. Her eyes are a bright green colour with intricate flecks of gold in them which can only be seen from up close. Her pelt is short and silky, and a beautiful soft grey colour. Her pelt hold a classic tabby pattern that is interrupted by her white under colours. She has white fur on her belly and a distinctive mark of white on her chest and throat. Dovetail might have a WaveClan build, but she retains her RootClan height. She is taller than average but has a more compact build than most of her clan mates.
[li]Personality-[/li]
Flirtatious; Sociable; Snarky; Impressionable; Dramatic; Laid back; Charming; Spontaneous; Warlike;
Dovetail likes to flirt, plain and simple. She likes the attention it grants her and gives her supreme satisfaction to see other cats trip over their tongues around her. Her default approach to the first time meeting someone is to flirt with them; its just in her nature to be naturally flirty. She's a great conversationalist and loves nothing more than sitting down and having a good conversation with someone. It helps that Dovetail just has a natural way with words that they flow out of her mouth like poetry. She likes the sound of her own voice.
Spending so much time around her brothers has given Dovetail a very snarky sense of humor. Her default answers are usually sarcastic or deadpan humor. She's quite quick witted and is good at getting the last word in an argument. Dovetail loves to play the drama queen when the situation calls for it. She embellishes stories so they are much more daring than they actually are. Blowing things out of proportion is Dovetail's specialty, but she mostly does it out of humor rather than anything serious.
Dovetail is the kind of cat who isn't afraid to take charge of a situation. She doesn't shy away from hard decisions and melts into the role of leader rather easily. She isn't wishy-washy and will stick with her decision through thick and thin. Sticking to her ideas and plans is a big part of who Dovetail is. When she makes a plan, it is final. Dovetail may be a little more eccentric than most of her clanmates and more willing to wear her heart on her sleeve, but she knows what she wants. She excels at making hard choices in times of strife and is known for keeping a cool head in difficult situations. Whereas Dovetail can be rather quick to jump to action, she is very good at thinking on her toe. Her tendency for quick-wittiness and recklessness makes her excel at working under pressure.
Most of her decision making skills can be accredited to her self confidence. Poised, perfect, bold, Dovetail is a triple threat. She is always sure of who she is, where she stands, and never criticizes herself. Dovetail tends to be more compassionate and believes in second chances, especially when it comes to herself. She think of failure as a learning lesson and will always get back up in the saddle after she makes a mistake. For all her faith in herself, Dovetail does have quite the God-complex. She believes herself to be flawless and always in the right. She hates relying on others and thinks herself above things likes rules and the opinion of others. Once Dovetail leaned how to hunt, she didn't even rely on others to bring her food. She strictly only eats what she hunts. Dovetail cares very little for petty insults thrown her way, so confident in who she is, Dovetail will completely brush off insults and the opinions of others. All that matters is what she thinks of herself.
Proud of her heritage, her family, and her clan, Dovetail will give her life for them. She completely disregards her WaveClan blood and most of her self-hate comes from her half-clan status. RootClan is the only clan in her heart. Some would call her patriotic, but Dovetail's opinion lies more in the superiority of RootClan in comparison to other clans. Her pride extends to herself; she is the kind of she cat who thinks herself above it all. Her pride, her confidence, and general disregard for criticism, Dovetail harbors a horrible monster of a God-complex. RootClan is the best clan, and the only one that really matters. The other clans could burn for all Dovetail cares. Empowered by her faith in her clan, Dovetail tends to believe her clan's belief over others. She thinks FerryClan is ridiculous for their integration with the twolegs and WaveClan has lost sight of what it truly means to be loyal to StarClan. The only leader Dovetail will ever respect is her own. If a leader from another clan tried to order her around, she would just put her nose in the air and turn her back on them. She belives only RootClan to be of true pureblood clan cats and has no respect for outsiders.
[li]History-[/li]
Dovetail's conception was more orchestrated than the average cat's. RootClan had been aware of their diminishing gene pool for several seasons and scrambled to find solutions. The most obvious, was to expand their gene pool by seeking outside help; but RootClan wanted nothing to do with outsiders. After moons of deliberation and arguing between the high ranks, a decision was reached. RootClan reached out to WaveClan asking them for a secret union between their two clans to help save RootClan from the devastation caused by their isolation.
Two candidates were chosen for the project, Silverflower and Shellheart. The choice was not made lightly and the two clans tried to be smart about the decision. Silverflower still retained enough WaveClan genes to pass off any of her kits as RootClan blood without question. While Shellheart was rather unremarkable in every way. The two cats had absolutely no relation to one another and hadn't even met before during Gatherings.
When Silverflower became pregnant with her litter, she did not name the father. Of course this raised some questions but with the presence of her over protective brother at her back, Cinderstorm, no one dared ask. The day finally came when Silverflower went into labour and all the high ranks held their breathe as she spent her moon of isolation in the birthing den. The moon eventually came to pass and Silverflower emerged from the birthing den a rare sight. Her head was held high with a proud smile as she walked back into camp with four kits following in her paw steps. RootClan almost exploded in celebration. Four living kits? It was practically unheard of! The entire clan watched with bated breathe as Silverflower brought her kits before the medicine cat to be anointed. When the final kit had the been anointed, the clan burst into cheers.
The next several days, Silverflower laughed and smiled as the entire clan visited her to convince her on which name to use. Everyone seemed to have an opinion. After much debate, Silverflower settled on bird-related names, hoping her kits will reach for the stars and raise the clan to new heights. Thus, Dovekit, Falconkit, Gullkit, and Harrierkit were finally named.
The hype around the kits did not diminish over time. All of the clan would pop their heads into the den just to catch a glimpse of the little balls of fluff who restored hope to the clan. Dovekit flowered under the attention and delighted in spending time with her extended family. She loved making rough warriors smile by pouncing on their tail or crawling all over them; she loved cajoling apprentices into childish games they hadn't played since they were kits; she loved using her age to her advantage by harassing the leader without consequence. Overall, it was a good childhood.
Despite her lack of a father, Dovekit loved her mother to pieces and Silverflower lived up to her name as an excellent mother. She gently tolerated all the attention from the clan and kept her kits in line at the same time. The only time she was forced to put her foot down was when the clan cats got in the way with the kits feeding time. When the kits weren't being visited by the clan, Dovekit enjoyed her time with her mother. As the only girl in the litter, Silverflower and Dovekit connected on a deep level. Dovekit preferred to spend time chatting with her mother than rough play with her brothers. Her brothers were too afraid of hurting a single hair on their little sister's head and refused to so much as paw at her with ill intent.
Eventually the moons passed until the kits were ready to be made apprentices. Silverflower was eternally grateful. She loved her kits but they were just getting far too big for sleeping in the nest with their mother. Dovekit, now Dovepaw, was naturally paired up with her brothers for the first portion of her training. The elders in charge of their training were more than delighted to keep RootClan's star litter of kits together for training. Together, they learned how to patrol and worked together as a unified group. Surprisingly, the kits didn't butt heads but actually seemed to grow closer during the experience. The siblings combined their nests in the apprentice den into one big nest and spent every night in a tangle of limbs and comfort. They started a daily ritual of sharing a morning kill with their mother and shared their training experiences with her. They threw themselves into training with vigor, determined to live up to the clan's expectations of their litter. On their second moon of training, Gullpaw had a total melt down. He was overwhelmed by the harsh training they were expected to endure and cracked under the pressure. Dovepaw, Falconpaw, and Harrierpaw eventually pieced their brother back together again and encouraged him to continue on with his training. During these moons, the four siblings developed an unbreakable bond. They credit their training success to the fact that they stuck together as a family during those trying moons.
All good things have to come to an end. At 9 moons old, the siblings were split and given individual mentors. Dovepaw, for her part, was completely heartbroken at the prospect of no longer spending so much time with her siblings. This lead to the start of her dislike of Ashcloud, her new mentor. The two cats didn't get along right from the start of their partnership. Dovepaw liked to flaunt her skills and beauty, preferring flashy fighting moves and taunting her opponents when fighting. Ashcloud was much more disciplined and practical. He criticized her every move and complained she was uncontrollable and didn't listen to anything he said. For her part, Dovepaw played the "young-and-wild" card and continued to evade her mentor's training. Ashcloud eventually figured out the best way to train her was by partnering Dovepaw up with one of her brother's or within sight of one of her brothers. When she was around them, she was much more manageable. Ashcloud was just glad he found a way to control his apprentice.
Over the course of her partnership with Ashcloud, Dovepaw learned a series of new skills. Her younger apprentice days were spent training how to fight or preform patrols but under Ashcloud she learned a wider variety of skills. Hunting was the main thing she learned but she also found her affinity for climbing. Most of the RootClan territory was dominated by trees and Dovepaw loved climbing the tallest trees in the territory. Ashcloud wasn't as talented at climbing as his apprentice and was usually forced to watch from the ground as Dovepaw leaped from tree to tree, chasing squirrels and springing down on unsuspecting mice.
Eventually, their training came to an end and Dovepaw, Falconpaw, Gullpaw, and Harrierpaw were made warriors and given their new names: Dovetail, Falconfang, Gullface, and Harrierclaw. Now fully fledged warriors, the siblings were unleashed on the clan. Reunited once more, the siblings made a place for themselves in the warrior den, once again sharing a nest together. They made sure to go out on patrol as a group of four. Their patrol time was spent seriously guarding the borders while also playing around like kits, giddy with the feeling of finally being warriors. They preformed their duties admirably, feeding and defending their clan with honour.
Now at twenty-four moons, the siblings are stable in their position in the clan. With the future ahead of them, the half-clan siblings cannot wait to see what is in store for them.
