PERSONALITY
Gracklenose is still relatively young, but it's said that she often acts younger than her age, more like a new warrior than one who has been around for several seasons. She's very playful, and is up for all sorts of games; she gets along well with apprentices and kits because of this. She's a bit of a risk-taker, the sort who would accept any kind of dare or challenge, no matter how dangerous it might be. It's not that she's dense; she's aware of potential dangers, but also very confident in her abilities. Small failures do little to discourage her; if anything, they make her more likely to try again, altering her technique slightly each time until she finally succeeds. Perhaps she'll become more cautious in the future if she has a serious accident, but so far, she's sustained nothing but very minor injuries from her adventurous exploits.
She's always up for a chat with anyone about nearly anything. This may change with age, but for the time being, she's quite social and very much enjoys the company of other cats, actively seeking to spend time with others. Despite her youthfulness, she has a rather formal way of speaking, and she always tries her best to be polite. She can, however, be a bit of a pest, because she asks all sorts of questions. Occasionally they'll be personal, but most of the time they're about the natural world: "What do you know about this plant?" or "Have you seen any interesting behaviors in that bird?" and the like. Sometimes this gets a bit too annoying to manage, and when a cat's body language suggests that they are fed up (or if they outright tell her to stop), she'll take it down a notch, or stop her questioning altogether and change the subject. If a cat makes it clear that they aren't interested in conversing with her at all, she'll be saddened, but respect their wishes.
Gracklenose asks all of her peculiar questions because of an intense curiosity about the world around her. She's especially interested in plants and other non-cat animals; she has little desire to become a medicine cat, but she finds the herbs themselves to be intriguing, and it's not uncommon for her to offer to go herb-gathering with the medicine cats. As most cats are, she's generally an opportunistic hunter; the Clan needs to be fed, after all. But she doesn't always take advantage of potential prey. Occasionally she'll spook it but refrain from trying to catch it to see how it reacts, and other times she'll try to remain unnoticed so that she can learn more about its natural behaviors when undisturbed by predators.
Perhaps unsurprisingly considering her prefix, Gracklenose is most interested in birds. It's a bit unusual for a WaveClan cat, but she has started a collection of feathers that she keeps tucked away under a small rock just outside of camp. They get a bit dirty sometimes, but for the most part stowing them under the rock keeps them protected from the elements so that she can admire them whenever she desires. She's always on the lookout for new feathers from bird species that she does not yet have in her collection.
It wouldn't be a stretch to call Gracklenose intelligent or, at the very least, a fast learner. She picks up on new things quickly, and her memory is keen: she rarely forgets things that she's seen or been told, though she can't recall whole conversations word-for-word or anything like that. She can be occasionally immature, but she has a strong sense of duty, even though she may not always take things as seriously as others might. If someone has ordered or requested her to do something, she'll do it, and give it her all. If something interesting pops up, she might get a bit distracted, but she'll never forget tasks and she'll try to complete them quickly, only spending a small amount of time on whatever unrelated thing happened to draw her attention.
Gracklenose is known for being aware of her surroundings at all times. She's been blessed with strong senses, which help her greatly in her investigations of the world. She's not the swiftest or most agile cat around, but she makes up for those shortcomings with her tracking ability, and she's quite a decent hunter as well. She enjoys sentry duty because it gives her a chance to test her skills, but it can also be boring at times, for it involves a lot of sitting around and doing nothing; Gracklenose is not a cat who fares well when there's nothing nearby to entertain her.
